CoreWeave Slides Toward Third Weekly Drop as AI Financing Worries Hit Stocks and Bitcoin

CoreWeave Slides Toward Third Weekly Drop as AI Financing Worries Hit Stocks and Bitcoin

Bitcoin traded near $81,400 on Friday, little changed on the day and roughly where it ended last week, as investors weighed fresh concerns about how the artificial intelligence buildout will be financed. The muted price action in crypto came as CoreWeave headed for its third consecutive weekly loss, a stretch that has weighed on both equity markets and digital assets.

The cloud computing provider, which has become a bellwether for the AI infrastructure trade, has seen its shares under pressure as questions mount over the sustainability of the massive spending required to support AI data centers. Those concerns have rippled outward, hitting technology stocks and spilling into crypto markets, where bitcoin has struggled to find direction.

Traders said the unease centers on whether the companies driving the AI boom can fund their ambitious expansion plans without straining balance sheets or relying on increasingly expensive capital. CoreWeave's recent weakness has reinforced that anxiety, with the stock's slide serving as a visible signal of investor skepticism.

Bitcoin's lack of momentum reflects a broader risk-off tone in speculative assets. The largest cryptocurrency has been range-bound for much of the week, unable to break meaningfully higher as macro uncertainty and sector-specific worries keep buyers cautious. Market participants are watching whether the AI financing debate intensifies in the coming sessions, which could determine whether bitcoin tests lower support levels or finds a floor near current prices.
