ChargePoint Reports Second Quarter Fiscal Year 2027 Financial Results

CAMPBELL, Calif., September 02, 2026 - ChargePoint Holdings, Inc., a global provider of electric vehicle charging solutions and networked services, has released its financial results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, covering the period that ended on July 31, 2026.

The company reported revenue of $118.5 million for the quarter, which came in slightly above the midpoint of its own guidance range. This figure represents a modest increase from the prior quarter, though it still trails the year-ago period as the broader commercial EV market continues to digest slower fleet adoption timelines.

Charging system revenue totaled $82.3 million, while subscription and software services brought in $36.2 million. The services segment continues to be a bright spot, growing at a double-digit percentage clip year over year as the installed base of active charging ports expands. ChargePoint now has over 310,000 active ports across North America and Europe, with networked charging sessions up roughly 25 percent compared to the same quarter last year.

On the cost side, the company posted a GAAP net loss of $74.1 million, or $0.16 per share. On an adjusted basis, the net loss came to $0.09 per share, which was narrower than analyst expectations. Adjusted EBITDA loss also improved sequentially, reflecting ongoing cost discipline and a shift toward higher-margin software revenue.

Cash and cash equivalents stood at $285 million at the end of the quarter. The company also drew down an additional $50 million from its existing credit facility to shore up liquidity as it prepares for a heavier second-half rollout of new DC fast chargers and commercial fleet products.

Looking ahead, management guided third quarter revenue to a range of $125 million to $135 million, citing stronger order books from utility and government customers. They also reaffirmed their full-year target for positive adjusted EBITDA by the fourth quarter of fiscal 2027, a goal they set earlier this year.

The company noted that supply chain conditions have normalized, but it remains cautious about demand from European fleet operators, where economic uncertainty has delayed some purchasing decisions. Executives said they are focusing on software attach rates and recurring revenue to smooth out the lumpiness of hardware sales.

Shares of ChargePoint moved up about 4 percent in after-hours trading following the release, as investors welcomed the narrower loss and the maintained profitability timeline.
