Cyclic Materials Opens America’s First Commercial-Scale Facility Delivering Automated Rare Earth Magnet Recovery

MESA, Ariz., September 09, 2026 - Cyclic Materials has officially opened its first commercial-scale facility in Mesa, Arizona, dedicated to recovering rare earth magnets from end-of-life products. The plant represents a significant step forward for domestic supply chains of critical minerals, which are essential for electric vehicles, wind turbines, and electronics.

The new facility can process up to 25,000 metric tons of magnet-bearing products each year. Using automated systems, it extracts and produces the company's Mag-Xtract material, along with valuable byproducts such as copper, aluminum, and steel. This approach reduces reliance on overseas sources for rare earth elements, which are largely controlled by foreign suppliers.

Company officials say the Mesa site is just the beginning. They plan to expand operations further as demand grows for recycled magnet materials. The facility also supports broader efforts to build a circular economy for clean energy technologies, cutting down on mining waste and lowering the carbon footprint of manufacturing.

Local leaders welcomed the opening, noting the jobs and economic activity it brings to the region. The plant is expected to create dozens of skilled positions, with room for growth. Cyclic Materials highlighted that the site is the first of its kind in the country, setting a benchmark for future recycling infrastructure.

With this launch, the company aims to work closely with automakers, electronics manufacturers, and other industries that rely heavily on rare earth magnets. The goal is to secure a steady, reliable supply of these materials without depending on unpredictable global markets.
