Ondo Finance has officially launched the Ondo Network, a new blockchain-based platform designed to expand access to tokenized real-world assets. The announcement comes just days after the firm's subsidiary, Oasis Pro Markets, received clearance from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to offer tokenized versions of U.S. equities.
The Ondo Network aims to bridge the gap between traditional finance and decentralized finance by allowing users to trade and manage tokenized assets more efficiently. According to the company, the network will focus on institutional-grade infrastructure, offering features like compliance tools and automated market making. This move positions Ondo to compete in the rapidly growing market for on-chain securities, where firms are racing to bring stocks, bonds, and other assets onto blockchain rails.
The SEC's green light for Oasis Pro Markets was a key milestone, enabling the firm to legally issue and trade tokenized shares of major U.S. companies. With the Ondo Network now live, the company hopes to attract both institutional investors and crypto-native users looking for regulated exposure to traditional markets. The launch underscores a broader trend of traditional finance merging with crypto infrastructure, as regulators begin to approve more blockchain-based financial products.
